A Crown Victoria with a Bite worse than its Bark!

While getting a little work done on the 96 SHO recently, I ran into one of the managers at Mangold Ford in Eureka, IL (Phone: 1-309-467-2344 ask for Rob Gregoire or Jeff Banwart) and heard about this interesting Ford sedan.  Somewhat similar to the Kenny Brown Crown Vic out of Indianapolis that was featured in several magazines.  I had not heard of this, but apparently it was featured in the August 1998 Super Ford magazine.  Pictures are on the way, and will be posted here when available, but here is the list of what you can get installed:

Mark Ray Motorsports Crown Vic.
5255 Pit Road South
Harrisbug  NC 28075
704-455-5058

Vortech Blower Kit
Vortech Griffin Aftercooler kit
Pro-M MAF
3.73 Ring/Pinion with Traction-Loc
Computer chip
Stainless dual exhaust with high flow converters
Progressive Rate springs, drop 1.3" front, 1.5" in rear.
Bilstein Shocks
17 X 8" Front wheels
17 X 9.5 Rear wheels
BFG Comp TA tires

You also get some other new parts like differential bearings, better plugs etc.

This is all done to the well-tested SOHC 4.6 Crown Vic engine, the newest 2001 Vics apparently have the Mustang style SOHC heads and make significant power over previous versions.

Cost:  Retail depends on if you order a car new, or take a used one to Mark Ray Motorsports.  Expect the total package to be about $14,000 to 15,000 over retail, or the cost of the car.  I assume you can chose to delete portions of the package.  Order the Vic with the paint/interior you want, then Mark Ray will convert it.

So, what do you get for your money?  Stealth, and a tested 355hp AT THE WHEELS. (depending on which version of the Vic motor you start with, that number could vary)

If you buy the car new through a Ford dealer, there is a warranty, you should check with your dealer to verify this though.
