Repair your broke Cable Shifer

The SHO Cable Shifter, on SHO's from 1989 model year through mid 1991 is a pretty sturdy piece, but it can break.  When it does, it is usually the ball end that holds the cable onto the shift mechanism in the console area.

When your shifter goes limp (resisting the urge for crude joke here...) you can remove the shift boot panel by just pulling up on the sides and look to see what has come loose.  

An easy and fairly cheap fix is to use a MOPAR part!  (those that won't touch anything MOPAR are excused to find their own fix at this point, the rest of us will get things going quickly and easily).

The part is part number 04340118 and comes in a bag of six clips.  This clip need to be closed up just a little for a tight fit, just use pliers.  This clip works to hold the two ends together neatly for a permanent or at least semi-permanent fix.
